Christopher Shenise, 32, of Vernon, "engaged in inappropriate sexual behavior with a 17-year-old teenage victim in November of 2018, specifically by asking for sexual videos in exchange for money," Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and West Milford Chief Timothy Storbeck said in a joint release.
The victim "was a student at the school during the time period," the release said.
The investigation "stemmed from information received from a faculty member at the high school and forwarded to school administration officials," Storbeck added.
West Milford and Vernon police detectives took Shenise into custody on Friday.
He was sent to the Passaic County Jail pending a detention hearing in Central Judicial Processing Court.
Juvenile Detective Donald Fantasia is the lead detective in the case. Storbeck asked that anyone with information that they want to add to or help with the case contact Fantasia at (973) 728-2808 or d.fantasia@wmtpd.org.
